 History

In the market since 1999, Maeil Consultores came to assume a concept that offers technological solutions that make possible, facilitate and improve their client’s operational activities and business processes.

Its Managing Partner and Founder, Hugo Duarte da Fonseca, resume our history.

“We started for, following our graduation in IST, to create an Information System that helped the daily operational activities of a Shipping Agent. This was our first project, and our beginning as company. We felt the need to deliver a solution capable of manage all its operational and financial business processes while improve its performance through the use of correct and integrated new technologies.

We started in the area of transports, having developed, since then, several applications and software suited for this market. During the first years we had the chance to implement our solution in Rotterdam to an associated company of our first customer. This allowed us to had a great learning with a completely different reality from the Portuguese and pointed out us, in an enterprise vision, with a different perspective and horizon. From then on we have looked always thinking in the international market, and envisioning to whom our solutions will be able to serve on a global scale. Nowadays we have customers in Germany, Angola, Holland, England, Kenya, which represent a good percentage of our sales volume. After this first international project, with a more solid product and bigger experience we obtained new projects, and built our team starting to have more customers in Portugal. With the growth, restructured our company in two divisions, the first is responsible for the development of solutions of Information Systems - in areas as the Transports - managed by the Transporter Team , but also in the areas of health, financial and services managed by the Business Solutions Team - and a second division is responsible for the management and maintenance of the technological infrastructure of our customers, managed by the Support Team.”

Along these years we built partnerships with several IT companies, with a wide range of products and a few Universities in several knowledge areas.
